Egypt's permanent delegate to the United Nations Amr Ramadan described any pro-homosexuality resolution adopted by the UN as "worthless", saying that it will not change the global attitudes that reject such perverted practices being promoted by Western countries.
Egypt will not comply with such resolutions due to its contradiction with international laws, the Egyptian delegate stressed.
Ramadan made the remarks after the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) adopted its third resolution on human rights of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender persons, creating an Independent Expert on violence and discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity.
Ramadan said that such resolutions strongly contradict international laws and the national sovereignty of the UN member states and act to legally classify humans based on their sexual attitudes and behaviors.
