Shoukry to confer with UN Mideast envoy, UK lawmakers

– Egypt’s Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry is expected to hold a meeting on Thursday with UN Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Nickolay Mladenov who started an official visit to Cairo.

 

The meeting is scheduled to take up the efforts exerted by the international community to revive the Middle East peace process, the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

 

The statement added that Shoukry would hold another meeting on the same day with a delegation from the UK House of Commons and members of the Egyptian-British parliamentary friendship association.

 

During the meeting, the top diplomat would hold discussions with the British lawmakers on bilateral ties and regional developments, the statement said.

 

Also, he will meet Igor Lukšić, the Candidate of Montenegro for the position of UN Secretary General, who started a visit to Egypt.
