Egypt, India discuss boosting cooperation in textile industry

Public Business Sector Minister Ashraf el Sharqawi discussed with India’s Textile Minister Smriti Irani the means of boosting cooperation in the textile industry.

Egypt’s Ambassador to India Hatem Tag el Dine, some of the Egyptian embassy staff, and the chairman of Cotton & Textile Industries Holding Company were present at the meeting between the two ministers in India, the Ministry of Public Business Sector said in a statement.

Iran welcomed Sharqawi’s visit to India and praised the ties between the two countries.

Sharqawi said his visit to India came as part of his ministry’s endeavors to develop the textile industry in Egypt, and benefiting from the Indian expertise in this field.

They discussed the investment potentials in the public sector companies in Egypt.

The visit’s agenda include holding meetings with representatives from giant Indian companies working in the textile domain, including Bajaj.
