Egypt, Sudan discuss boosting cooperation in animal wealth field

Minister of Agriculture Abdel Moneam el Banna discussed with Sudanese Minister of Animal Wealth Bushara Guma means to boost bilateral cooperation in the field of livestock resources for the interest of both countries.

In statements to MENA, Banna said that the meeting took up mechanisms to increase Egyptian investments in the field of animal wealth in Sudan and means to attract more Egyptian businessmen to invest in this sector.

The Arab Organization for Agricultural Development (AOAD) is working on a study to activate cooperation between Egypt and Sudan in the animal wealth development sector, he said.

Both countries are working for developing the capabilities of the animal wealth sector via establishing veterinary quarantine offices and slaughterhouses, he pointed out.

Banna said that another meeting will be held on the sidelines of the conference with Sudanese ministers of agriculture and animal wealth along with AOAD director general to discuss means to support Egyptian-Sudanese cooperation in the field of agriculture and animal wealth.
