At the internal level, President Sisi held meetings with government officials as a part of the President's regular follow-up to the Government's efforts to achieve social justice and sustainable development.
At the external level, President Sisi held several meetings with foreign officials, which discussed ways to enhance cooperation in various fields and also visited Sultanate of Oman and United Arab Emirates.
President's meetings with officials
February 13: President Abdel Fattah El Sisi met with Prime Minister Sherif Ismail in the presence of Minister of Military Production Mohamed el Assar, Minister of Education and Technical Education Tareq Shawqi and head of the Administrative Control Authority Mohamed Erfan. During the meeting, the President focused on means to develop education system strategy and how to hone the skills of the pupils through the use of modern technology in the education process.
February 17: President Abdel Fattah El Sisi met with Housing Minister Mostafa Madbouly on ongoing construction projects in the country. The meeting was part of the follow-up of the housing projects in new cities in different parts of the country including the new administrative capital. For his part, Madbouly told the President that the works are going on as scheduled. He also reviewed designs of a number of districts in the new capital.
February 17: President Abdel Fattah El Sisi met with Prime Minister Sherif Ismail and Governor of the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) Tarek Amer. During the meeting, Sisi lauded efforts of the Armed Forces and Police to protect the homeland, and gave orders to continue the joint efforts among all competent bodies to guarantee the full implementation of the military operation’s objectives and ensure the safety of the civilians in the areas of the security operations and nationwide. The meeting touched on the situation of the economic reform program and sustainable development in light of the CBE’s latest decision to cut interest rates by one percent, to cope with the state’s efforts meant to contain the inflationary pressures.
February 18: President Abdel Fattah El Sisi met with Prime Minister Sherif Ismail, Governor of the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) Tarek Amer and chairman of the Administrative Control Authority (ACA) Mohamed Erfan. During the meeting, the President said that the rules are needed to regulate an initiative meant to provide insurance for day laborers.
February 24: President Abdel Fattah El Sisi met with Prime Minister Sherif Ismail and Public Business Sector Minister Khaled Badawy and ordered preparing a study on troubled firms of the public business sector to back successful ones. During a meeting, Sisi urged making use of qualified youth cadres at the state-owned companies.
February 27: President Abdel Fattah El Sisi met with Prime Minister Sherif Ismail and Housing Minister Mostafa Madbouly and ordered finalizing all under-construction projects in the New Administrative Capital on time. During the meeting, Madboly stressed that construction works at the New Administration Capital will be finalized on schedule. He added that the New Administrative Capital will be established using the latest techniques and the highest quality standards.
Galala mountain project
President Abdel Fattah El Sisi inspected on Friday 2/2/2018 El Galala mountain project. During his tour, President Sisi was briefed on progress made to implement this development project. Sisi hailed efforts exerted to finalize mega projects as per a specific timetable and with the use of best quality standards. President Sisi said that those projects are expected to contribute to achieving development and building new urban communities for the Egyptian people.
Mohamed Naguib military base in Matrouh
President Abdel Fattah El Sisi on Thursday 8/2/2018 arrived at Mohamed Naguib military base in El Hamam area of Alexandria’s North Coast to inaugurate the first phase of a project to establish greenhouses on an area of 100,000 feddans. President Sisi asserted that the new national agricultural projects, including the greenhouses project stretching over an area of 100,000 feddans in Marsa Matrouh, aim at providing the local Egyptian markets with agricultural products at suitable prices.He asserted that the products of these projects will first provide for the needs of the local markets. And, he said, if there are any surpluses they will be exported.
President Abdel Fattah El Sisi toured on Monday 12/2/2018 various pavilions of Egypt Petroleum Show (EGYPS 2018), an important platform for exploring evolving opportunities in the Egyptian and North African energy sector. President Sisi attended the inauguration ceremony of the conference held at Egypt International Exhibition Center (EIEC) in New Cairo. The event started by screening a documentary on the efforts of the Petroleum Ministry in luring investments to Egypt. The film also shed light on the important natural gas finds discovered lately in Egypt and efforts to turn Egypt to an energy hub.
Sisi's surprise visit to Military Academy
President Sisi made a surprise visit to the Egyptian Military Academy on Monday 19/2/2018. Students were having their physical exercise when the president arrived. During the visit, the president called for awareness vis-a-vis attempts to destabilize the state. President Sisi praised the sacrifices of the Armed Forces and police during the ongoing military campaign to stamp out terrorism and secure the state borders. He said the president visit was also part of keenness to follow up the training of the academy cadets.

Sisi opens command to combat terrorism east of Canal
President Abdel Fattah El Sisi inaugurated on Sunday 25/2/2018 a unified command to combat terrorism east of the Suez Canal. The president inspected the command and later headed to its operations center from which the overall Sinai 2018 military operation is operated.
Official Visits to Egypt
February 12: President Sisi stressed the strategic and deep-rooted relations between Egypt and the US. He underlined the importance to continue boosting relations between both sides in various fields in a way that enables the two countries to face common challenges. This came during a meeting between Sisi and US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson at Ittihadiya Palace, in the presence of Minister of Foreign Affairs Sameh Shoukry. Tillerson stressed the importance of Egypt as a partner to the US, as well as the deep-rooted relations between both countries. Sisi briefed Tillerson on the efforts carried out by Egypt in the fight against terrorism, in addition to efforts to achieve economic and social development. The president expressed Egypt's keenness to enhance economic cooperation between the two countries, as well as increasing US investments in Egypt.
February 13: President Sisi met head of Russia’s Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) Sergei Naryshkin in the presence of the acting chief of the Egyptian intelligence service. Naryshkin conveyed the greetings of Russian President Vladimir Putin to President Sisi and asserted Moscow’s deep appreciation for Cairo’s role as a pillar of stability and peace in the Middle East. The Russian official also pointed out to the importance of Egypt-Russia security cooperation at a time when terrorism represents a major challenge for the region and the world. Meanwhile, President Sisi hailed as distinctive relations between Egypt and Russia, affirming Cairo’s keenness to boost them. Sisi also reviewed Egypt’s efforts to comprehensively confront terrorism. On that score, the president said eradicating terrorism requires rallying the international community efforts and drying out terrorism resources at the security, military, political and intellectual levels. The meeting also touched on means of bolstering bilateral security cooperation as well as the current crises sweeping the Middle East, with Sisi and Naryshkin exchanging viewpoints on ways to resolve them.
February 15: President Sisi discussed in a meeting with Head of the U.S. Central Command General Joseph Votel ways of fostering military cooperation between Egypt and the US. Sisi and Votel touched on the latest military and political developments in the region. President Sisi highlighted the long-standing strategic ties binding the two countries in all fields, especially in the military one. The two parties asserted the importance of stepping up efforts to face challenges threatening regional security and stability. Also, President Sisi posted the US general on ongoing efforts exerted by Egypt to uproot terrorism.
February 18: Egypt is looking forward to benefiting from a French experiment in training cadres through a partnership between the Ecole Nationale d'Administration (ENA) and Egypt's Youth Academy, said President Abdel Fattah El Sisi. The move is meant to define efficiency criteria by which leaders and senior officials should be selected. It also aims to establish an integrated system to run the State, while taking into consideration requirements of comprehensive development. Sisi, in a meeting with ENA director Patrick Gérard, discussed cooperation between the Youth Academy and the French school to hone skills of officials to be able to assume top administrative posts. Gérard was happy to visit Egypt and voiced willingness to boost bilateral cooperation in a way that would contribute to Egyptian prosperity.
February 19: President Sisi highly praised what Siemens had accomplished in implementing development projects in Egypt, including the power plants in Beni Suef, Burullus area and the new administrative capital. These remarks came during Sisi's meeting with Germany’s Siemens AG Company President and CEO Joe Kaiser in presence of Minister of Electricity and Energy Mohammad Shaker and Engineer Hany Azer, President Sisi’s adviser for transport affairs. Sisi expressed Egypt's interest in developing the partnership with the German company in several fields related to the company's expertise, including railways, renewable energy and transportation. The president also lauded cooperation with the company in the field of technical training, stressing Egypt's concern for take advantage of the abilities of Siemens due to its success in the Egyptian market.
February 20: President Sisi received heads of African constitutional and high courts who are taking part in a conference that is organized by the Egyptian Constitutional Court in Cairo. The president voiced his appreciation of the heads of African courts. Sisi further underlined the importance of the constitutional courts in Egypt and other African countries. Constitutional courts are important for the development process in Africa in their capacity as pillars of stability and justice, the spokesman quoted the president as saying. The president also expressed Egypt's readiness to extend all assistance possible to African courts in an effort to help enhance information exchange.
February 20: President Sisi received a message from South Sudan President Salva Kiir on bilateral relations and Juba's keenness on boosting ties with Cairo in all domains. The message was delivered to the president during a meeting with South Sudan's presidential affairs minister and Kiir's personal envoy Mike Deng, in the presence of Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry and the acting head of Egypt's general intelligence service. President Sisi asserted during the meeting the strength of bilateral relations and Egypt's keenness on boosting peace and stability in South Sudan. Sisi said Egypt will continue to offer technical support to South Sudan to contribute to its development process. The Sudanese official conveyed the greetings of Kiir to president Sisi and reviewed with him the latest political developments and efforts to restore security and stability in South Sudan, praising Egypt's support to his country and keenness on its stability.
February 24: President Sisi said that Egypt is keen on upholding the principles of citizenship, equality, and the culture of pluralism. Sisi’s remarks came during a meeting with a delegation of US Evangelical community leaders. The president reiterated Egypt’s openness to all factions and heavenly religions, highlighting the importance of dialogue between the peoples of the globe. The US delegation hailed Sisi’s role in fighting terrorism, achieving development in the country, considering Egypt a basic pillar for moderation, tolerance, and stability in the Middle East.
President's Foreign Visits
President Sisi's Gulf tour (Oman, UAE)
President Abdel Fattah El Sisi begins a Gulf tour on Sunday 4/2/2018, including Sultanate of Oman and United Arab Emirates (UAE). The tour begins with a three-day official visit to the Sultanate of Oman where he met with Omani Sultan Qaboos bin Said and other senior officials. The tour aims to discuss ways to boost cooperation in various fields, as well as the latest developments of Arab, regional and international issues of common interest.
