President Sisi received his Sudanese counterpart Omar el Bashir. President Sisi asserted that historical relations bind the two nations, besides joint cultural and social aspects spanning for thousands of years.
President Sisi also received a number of foreign officials to discuss and coordinate on issues of common concern.
President's meetings with officials
March 3: President Abdel Fattah El Sisi affirmed the importance of continuing efforts to implement the digital transformation strategy and to attract more investments in the IT and communications sector, particularly in the state's major development projects. President Sisi was speaking a meeting with Communications Minister Yasser Al Qadi, citing incentives offered to investors as part of the economic reform program and recently-issued investment laws.
March 8: President Abdel Fattah El Sisi reviewed with Prime Minister Sherif Ismail and Minister of Social Solidarity Ghada Wali means to activate the mechanism of social insurance on day laborers, as part of the president's keenness on providing insurance for all categories of the workforce.
March 10: A meeting, held between President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, Prime Minister Sherif Ismail, Finance Minister Amr el Garhy tackled the performance of the outcome of the fiscal year and the 2017-2018 primary features of the budget bill of the 2018-2019 fiscal year. The meeting also discussed offering to sell the stake of a number of public sector companies through the stock exchange, the companies include 20 companies working in the fields of energy, petrochemicals, financial services and information technology.
March 12: President Abdel Fattah El Sisi directed to exert more efforts to modernize the electricity sector according to a certain schedule in order to provide better service for citizens nationwide especially in Upper Egypt and remote areas. The directives were given at a meeting with Prime Minister Sherif Ismail and Electricity Minister Mohamed Shaker in which the President also ordered to provide electricity required for all purposes in the coming years.
March 13: President Abdel Fattah El Sisi reviewed the ongoing preparations to implement the fresh social health insurance system. Chairing an official meeting with Prime Minister Sherif Ismail, Minister of Health and Population Ahmed Emad el Din and Minister of Finance Amr el Garhy, Sisi affirmed the importance of implementing the new system to solve the problems that faced the health sector.
March 20: President Abdel Fattah El Sisi stressed the importance of stepping up efforts to develop the civil aviation sector in Egypt. The President made the remarks during a meeting with Prime Minister Sherif Ismail and Civil Aviation Minister Sherif Fathi.

The President’s remarks came during his meeting with Prime Minister Sherif Ismail and Minister of Transport Hisham Arafat. Sisi underscored the importance of the transport sector, noting that it directly affects the people’s everyday life.
March 22: President Abdel Fattah El Sisi gave directives to officials to continue efforts of developing higher education mechanism to upgrade Egyptian universities and institutes. He underlined that permits should not be given to any university unless it signs a twinship agreement with the best university abroad to guarantee a better level education to university students. Sisi made the remarks during his meeting with Prime Minister Sherif Ismail and Higher Education Minister Khaled Abdel Ghaffar.
March 25: President Abdel Fattah El Sisi expressed hope that the transfer of government offices to the New Administrative Capital would help improve the quality of public services offered to citizens. During a meeting with Prime Minister Sherif Ismail and Planning Minister Hala el Saeed, Sisi said the new administrative capital will be equipped with the latest techniques to achieve goals of the smart government.
1st stage of new El Alamein city
March 1: President Abdel Fattah El Sisi gave the go-ahead for the first stage of the New El Alamein eco-city in Marsa Matrouh governorate. The inauguration ceremony began by reciting some verses of the Holy Quran. Nearly 5,000 residential units in the city will be poured into the market next month. The New El Alamein city project is one of the "fourth generation" of new cities that Egypt is building. Its infrastructure will be eco-oriented. It will stretch over an area of 48,000 feddans, at a total cost of two billion pounds.
Rod el Farag axis, Sphinx International Airport
March 12: President Abdel Fattah El Sisi toured Rod el Farag axis and Sphinx International Airport in west of Cairo. President's Sisi inspection tour of the new projects falls within the framework of following up work progress of the axis, a venture that is considered one of the most important development axes in Greater Cairo as it links areas from northern and eastern Cairo with its west.
27th cultural symposium of Armed Forces
March 15: President Abdel Fattah El Sisi attended the 27th cultural symposium of the Armed Forces at the El Manara International Convention Center (MICC) in the 5th Settlement district in New Cairo. The event started by reciting versus of the Holy Quran. Prime Minister Sherif Ismail, Defense and Military Production Minister Sedqi Sobhi and a number of ministers and senior statesmen were also present. Sisi paid tribute to the Armed Forces' all-time heroes who sacrifice their lives for Egypt's peace and stability. Sisi said every martyr or injured paid a heavy price for the sake of a strong and stable Egypt.
East Port Said Port
March 17: President Abdel Fattah El Sisi carried out an inspection tour Saturday of a number of projects in East Port Said Port where he was accompanied by Defense and Military Production Minister Sedki Sobhi. Upon his arrival to the harbor's platform, Sisi shook hands with officials of the Egyptian Armed Forces Engineering Authority and representatives of the companies participating in implementing various ventures in the area. The head of the authority's consulting office Ashraf Wagih expounded to the president the project of constructing the pier of East Port Said Port which is being implemented by the Arab Contractors Company. The pier consists of ten platforms constructed to handle the expected growth of shipments, Wagih said. The second element in the harbor is the five-kilometer waterway, he said, noting that work at the place will be finalized by the end of May while dredging work will be ended in June.
March 24: President Abdel Fattah El Sisi opened the national conference on scientific research. The national conference is organized by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research under the theme "Launching Egyptians' Capabilities". Attending the inauguration ceremony were Prime Minister Sherif Ismail and Minister of Higher Education Khaled Abdel Ghaffar along with several Cabinet ministers and researchers. The conference is set to review priorities of the scientific research in Egypt, within the unified national framework of science, technology and innovation as well as Egypt's sustainable development strategy 2030.
Sudanese President's Visit (March 19, 2018)
President Abdel Fattah El Sisi received his Sudanese counterpart Omar el Bashir upon his arrival at Cairo International Airport. President Sisi held talks with his Sudanese counterpart Omar al Bashir, asserting that historical relations bind the two nations, besides joint cultural and social aspects spanning for thousands of years. The two sides agreed on bolstering joint economic cooperation in the fields of agriculture, livestock production, transportation and infrastructure, besides establishing vital ventures, he said. They also stressed the importance of swiftly finalizing the electricity linkage project between Egypt and Sudan.
Sisi receives Huawei CEO
March 3: President Abdel Fattah El Sisi expressed hope that Huawei Egypt would expand its activities and operations in the country. Sisi’s remarks came during a meeting with Huawei CEO Guo Ping, CEO of Huawei Egypt Terry Liu and Minister of Communication Yasser el Qadi. Sisi’s desire comes amid Egypt’s tendency to develop its information technology sector, and the digital transform in different industrial sectors.
March 3: President Abdel Fattah El Sisi met Ibrahim Gambari, Nigeria’s former Minister of Foreign Affairs and a member of the APR Panel of Eminent Persons of the African Peer Review Mechanism (APRM) in presence of Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry. Sisi stressed that Egypt is keen to boost its close relations with its African brotherly countries and foster cooperation with them in various fields. The president said that such cooperation would contribute to pushing forward joint African action and counter challenges facing the African continent to create a better life for the African peoples. President Sisi lauded the role that the APRM plays to assist the African countries in promoting the democratic values and development efforts, saying that it aims to review efforts of the African states with regard to the fields of democracy and good governance, economic management and social development in addition to tackling the provision of needed support to the African countries to enable them to achieve their goals. The president voiced Egypt’s keenness on supporting and cooperating with the APRM to face challenges that obstruct the march of developing it and contribute to achieving its objectives, pointing out that Egypt was among the first countries establishing it. Sisi highlighted the serious steps adopted by the Egyptian government in the field of governance, including all of its political, economic and social spheres especially in the sectors comprising investment in youth as well as women empowerment, reviewing Egypt’s ongoing efforts aimed to upgrade various state’s sectors.
President Abdel Fattah El Sisi Sunday 4/3/2018 welcomed at Cairo Airport Prince Mohamed Bin Salman, the Saudi crown Prince, the Deputy Premier and Defense Minister who is paying a three day official visit. The Saudi crown prince is accompanied by a number of the Saudi Ministers and senior officials. President Sisi and the Crown prince then headed for the Presidential Palace in Heliopolis where they held a tete a tete meeting, followed by expanded talks at the level of the two countries delegations. President Sisi welcomed the Saudi crown prince visit, the first official one since he took over as Crown Prince.
President Sisi and Saudi Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Mohammed bin Salman visited Ismailia city on 5/3/2018 to inaugurate a number of national projects in the presence of senior Egyptian and Saudi statesmen.
President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and Saudi Crown Prince Mohamed bin Salman al Saud attended on 6/3/2018 the final operation to renovate al Azhar Mosque. The three-year renovation works are the largest in the history of the 1000-year-old mosque. They started a tour inside the mosque along with Al Azhar Grand Imam Ahmed El Tayyeb.
Sisi receives Jordanian Prime Minister
March 13: President Abdel Fattah El Sisi underlined that Egypt is keen on promoting joint action with Jordan. At a meeting with visiting Jordanian Prime Minister Hani Al Mulqa, he expressed appreciation of the Jordanian stances over all issues of common concern in light of the current challenges facing the region. For his part, the visiting premier asserted that bilateral relations are strong in all domains.
Sisi receives Chairman and CEO of General Electric
March 15: President Abdel Fattah El Sisi met Chairman and CEO of General Electric (GE) Company John Flannery in the presence of Electricity and Renewable Energy Minister Mohamed Shaker and the acting head of Egypt's General Intelligence Service. Sisi pointed out to the good international reputation of GE firm besides its long experience in the Egyptian market and its unique activity in various fields. During the meeting, the president reviewed the economic reform measures taken to provide an investment-friendly atmosphere and push forward the development efforts in various domains.
March 18: President Abdel Fattah El Sisi discussed with UAE Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed al Nuhayyan ways of boosting economic and investment cooperation. They underlined the importance of facing all attempts meant to undermine the Arab countries' security and stability. Sisi underlined the importance of maintaining consultations over regional files and crises in the area to mull the best ways of settling them in a way that guarantees the integrity of the unrest-hit countries.
Sisi receives Greek FM
March 20: During a meeting with Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Kotzias, President Abdel Fattah El Sisi underlined Egypt's keenness on promoting relations with Greece and praised the current development in bilateral ties in the meantime at many levels. The meeting was attended by Egypt's Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukri and Greece's Ambassador to Egypt Christos Diamisis. President Sisi asserted Egypt's keenness on cooperation within the framework of the tripartite mechanism with Cyprus particularly in the field of energy in east the Mediterranean Sea in a way that contributes to reaching the best interest of both peoples and nations.
March 25: President Abdel Fattah El Sisi bestowed the Nile Sash on Saudi Minister of State for African Affairs Ahmed Abdel Aziz Qattan in appreciation of his efforts in promoting Egyptian-Saudi relations during his 14-year term of office as the kingdom's ambassador in Cairo. Qattan exerted efforts throughout his mandate, during which he was Saudi Arabia's delegate to the Cairo-based Arab League, to develop bilateral relations. The Saudi minister conveyed to President Sisi the greetings of Saudi King Salman bin Abdel Aziz and Crown Prince and Deputy Prime Minister Mohamed bin Salman. He underlined strong historical relations between the two countries and expressed his country's keenness on enhancing all fields of cooperation.
March 29: In a meeting with visiting Pakistani Chairman of Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCS) General Zubair Mahmood Hayat President Abdel Fattah El Sisi asserted that Egypt looks forward to fostering cooperation with Pakistan in different fields. Sisi said Cairo is keen to boost coordination with Islamabad on regional issues and files of common concern, notably the fight against terrorism. For his part, the Pakistani general confirmed the deeply-rooted relations binding the two countries and hailed the recent achievements that Egypt witnessed over the past period in the different areas, including the army's and police's victories in the ongoing “Sinai 2018” operation.
