29th Arab Summit

The 29th Arab Summit kicked off on Sunday 15/4/2018 in Dhahran City, Saudi Arabia, with many topics on its agenda, led by the Syrian crisis.
President Abdel Fattah El Sisi arrived at King Abdulaziz Air Base, where he was received by Governor of Eastern Region Prince Saud bin Naif bin Abdulaziz, Secretary General of the Arab League Ahmed Aboul Gheit and senior Saudi officials.
Yemeni President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, Tunisian President Beji Caid Essebsi, Comoros's President Othman Ghazali, Iraqi President Fuad Masum, President of the Presidential Council of the Libyan National Reconciliation Government Fayez Mustafa Al-Sarraj, Somalia's President Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed, UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and Oman's Deputy Prime Minister for the Council of Ministers Fahd bin Mahmoud Al Said also arrived in the Saudi city.
The Arab leaders discussed boosting the joint Arab action, and overcoming the running regional challenges.
Regional and international organizations had representatives in the summit, including UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, Chairperson of the African Union Commission Moussa Faki, EU diplomatic chief Federica Mogherini, Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Yousef A. Al-Othaimeen, and Speaker of the Arab Parliament Meshaal al Salmi.
The summit discussed several issues, including the Palestinian cause as well as the crises in Syria, Libya and Yemen.
The agenda of the summit also included the Iranian interference in Arab affairs, regional and international issues in addition to anti-terrorism efforts.
- President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi delivered a speech during the opening session of the Arab Summit and stressed full support for the Palestinian people in their struggle to attain their lawful rights.
He said that the Palestinian cause, which he called a central Arab problem, is fading amid inactivated international resolutions and conflicts among Arabs and among Palestinians themselves.
- President Abdel Fattah El Sisi met his Lebanese counterpart Michel Aoun on the sidelines of the 29th Arab Summit. The two leaders mulled recent regional developments, especially on the Syrian arena and ways to alleviate the humanitarian suffering of the Syrian people.
- President Abdel Fattah El Sisi affirmed Egypt's firm stance in support of Yemen's legitimate government. Meeting Yemeni President Abdrabbuh Mansour Hadi, Sisi said Egypt supports Yemen's unity and territorial integrity. The meeting was held on the sidelines of the 29th Arab Summit, concluded earlier in day in the Saudi city of Dhahran.
- President Abdel Fattah El Sisi returned home wrapping up a visit to Saudi Arabia, where he took part in the 29th Arab Summit in Dhahran.
