In the Name of Allah the Almighty
Great People of Egypt,
Egypt's Honorable Workers Across the Country,
Ladies and Gentlemen,
At the beginning, I would like to tell you that it is my honor to be with you today. I pay tribute and appreciation to every honest person who builds and helps in developing the country.
I would like to tell you that, thanks to Allah’s blessings, the Egyptian people are the ones who protected their country during the recent years. I would also like to pay tribute to each and every Egyptian family that offered one of its sons to the Armed Forces or the Police for the sake of Egypt, and to emphasize that the contributions of Egypt’s workers were not only confined to the last recent years, but rather extended throughout Egypt’s history.
However, their role was exceptionally prominent in the past four years, when they carried out several national projects in no time and we still have a lot to do in the coming period. I call Egypt’s laborers to show a positive and active participation in the coming Trade Union and local elections and to vote for the most objective, fair and honest candidates.
Today, I greet each worker across the country and each honest citizen, who is aware of the value of work and exert strenuous and sincere efforts for the sake of his family and homeland; building a better future and spreading righteousness and development.
I would like to tell Egypt’s male and female workers that your noble strife is highly appreciated and that I will always honor my pledges and exert my utmost effort to invest in your constructive work and achieve what you seek for yourself and for the best interest of our dear homeland Egypt.
Ladies and Gentlemen,
Egypt is proceeding on parallel tracks at the same time, to make up for what it missed and catch up with progress.
The challenges we have faced over the past years are too heavy burdens for mountains to carry. And we would have never been able to face them, except for the Grace of Allah and the strength of our people, who stick together in hard times. We have taken difficult economic measures that could not have been ignored.
Otherwise, the repercussions would have been big. I would like to highlight that most of those who bore the burden of reform were the workers and ordinary people.
The result of this endurance was the success of the economic reform program and the real image of Egyptians was reflected before the world as a people of deep awareness and understanding and willing to endure for their homeland.
Over the past years, the Egyptians have made extraordinary efforts to lead their country to safety and stability.
In this respect, Egypt's workers, in particular, have shown a high level of dedication, sincerity, ability to work and skills that even exceed the international level once the suitable atmosphere for work and achievement is provided. I tell you with all honesty and without courtesy that my optimism has no limits in the efficiency of Egyptian man and his ability to pursue the highest levels of work and production.
Over the last four years, I have witnessed successful stories, which some people thought were impossible. This proves that we are the people who can, if they want, and that there is no ceiling for our ambition and ability to fulfill fast achievements.
Ladies and Gentlemen,
During the past four years, my principal task was consolidating the state’s foundations; enhancing the coherence of its institutions, and restoring the stability, which is necessary for continuing progress. Beside this, and amid the turbulent times that our region experiences, we did not delay in building the future and laying the foundations to take off.
There is no solution to our problems except through the realistic confrontation. It could not be possible to continue adopting temporary solutions, leaving the problems to aggravate and complicate.
So, I did not hesitate a moment in taking the decisions necessary to set strong and real rules that provide us with a different reality, and achieve our aspirations in a modern and developed state.
Through the past years, the Egyptians have written a glorious story of mega projects and successive achievements either in new cities, or in infrastructure projects that we continue working for their improvement and address their deficiencies that resulted from negligence of maintenance throughout years, in addition to the social housing projects and youth housing, as well as developing the unsafe areas. Furthermore, the achievements include the new factories, the industrial and free zones coinciding with developing and modernizing the investment infrastructure, in addition to the natural gas and energy projects. All these achievements were made within a framework of an accurate economic reform program that solves the financial and monetary crises, which were always an obstacle to the advancement of our economy and improvement of our living conditions.
Faithfully I tell you, despite of the previous mentioned projects and achievements, however, I have a great pleasure of applying an integrated social protection system that we are always keen to modernize and develop in order to include all the beneficiaries, in a way that guarantees justice, and the whole feel that Egypt proceeds towards the future and never forgets one of her sons. Over the past four years, the state has applied “Solidarity and Dignity” “Takaful wa Karama” programme, which millions of families benefit from to have decent living after long sufferings. In addition, “Aman” certificate was issued several weeks ago in order to guarantee safety and protection for the temporarily and daily-paid workers as well as bread-winner-woman.
I am following up the progress in “Aman” certificate project and looking forward that its issuance rates will witness a rise either on the private or public sector level to provide full integrated protection for the daily-paid workers.
I also aspire that the House of Representatives will rapidly pass the New Labor Law that aims to achieve security and job stability for private sector labors during the coming period. I’m looking forward that the honorable businessmen will enhance their role in solving the labors problems, protecting their rights and undertake their social responsibility towards the labors and their homeland.
Ladies and Gentlemen,
Finally, I am certain of Egypt’s laborers' ability to continue the development process that will not be completed except by their determination and genuine patriotism. They also will not allow anybody, whatever his power is, to threaten Egypt’s stability; the ancient homeland, which is proud of its strong sons and is moving forward towards progress and prosperity by Allah’s Will. I reiterate that Egypt’s people with awareness of all its categories, will protect and preserve their homeland besides its army and police. They are also able to protect Egypt from any threat, danger or conspiracy.
My heartfelt greeting to all Egypt’s laborers in their Day.
Long live Egypt, Long live Egypt, Long live Egypt.
May Peace, Mercy and Blessings of Allah Be Upon You.
