The "Russia Today" website on Saturday 12/05/2018 retracted the offensive poll on whether Halayeb Triangle belongs to Egypt or Sudan.
The retraction of the poll came following contacts made by Egypt's State Information Service (SIS), immediately after it was published, with the officials of "Russia Today" in Moscow and Cairo as well as with Russian official bodies and officers keen on the safety of Egyptian-Russian relations.
SIS made clear to the Russian side how such irresponsible and unprofessional behaviors are dangerous, as they actually aim at driving a wedge between the Egyptian and Russian peoples and abusing the feelings of the Egyptian people in a issue related to the integrity of the Egyptian territory and its national sovereignty.
SIS continues its contacts with the officials in "Russia Today" and with all Russian bodies and figures concerned in order to ensure non-repetition of such abuses, and that the media in both countries acts as an important instrument to strengthening relations, rather than harming them, within the commitment to the internationally acknowledged professional rules.
