Shoukry to MENA: Cypriot, Greek leaders praised Egypt's role in settling regional issues

Cypriot President Nicos Anastasiades and Greek Premier Alexis Tsipras praised the role played by Egypt to fight illegal migration and terrorism, saidEgyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry on Wednesday.


During their meeting with President Abdel Fattah El Sisi in the Greek island of Crete, Anastasiades and Tsipras hailed efforts exerted by Egypt to find peaceful solutions to the Middle East crises, particularly the Palestinian issue, Shoukry told MENA.


The summit between Egyptian, Greek and Cypriot leaders was meant to boost relations between the three countries in all domains, particularly in energy, he noted.


Shoukry further stressed the importance of agreements signed on the sidelines of the summit, saying that they will help increase the volume of investments between the three countries.


The foreign minister also hailed the social insurance agreement signed earlier in the day by Egypt and Greece.
