Trade Minister expects increase of Egypt's exports after lifting Sudanese ban

Friday، 26 October 2018 - 01:23 PM

Minister of Trade and Industry Amr Nassar said the lifting of a ban on Egyptian exports to Sudan is one of the key results of the joint presidential committee of the two countries that concluded its activities Thursday 25/10/2018.

The minister expected that this decision will contribute to increasing Egypt’s food exports in the coming stage, especially that they slumped to $44 million after the Sudanese ban decision in March 2017, compared to $164 million in 2016.

Nassar said meetings of the joint Egyptian-Sudanese presidential committee resulted in a number of important decisions that would serve the economies of both countries, the Ministry of Trade and Industry said in a statement Friday 26/10/2018.

The great support provided by political leaderships in Egypt and Sudan has been a main factor that led to the success of the efforts made by the two countries’ government officials over the past stage, he noted.
