FM begins visit to Kuwaiti capital by meeting Emir of Kuwait

On December 4, Emir of Kuwait His Highness Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah received Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry at the beginning of his visit to the Kuwaiti capital to head the 12th session of the Egyptian-Kuwaiti Joint Committee chaired by the Foreign Ministers of both countries.
Official MFA Spokesperson Counselor Ahmed Hafez stated that at the beginning of the meeting, FM Shoukry was keen to convey President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi’s greetings to his brother His Highness Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah. He emphasized that Egypt takes great pride in the close and brotherly ties that unite the two peoples and countries, which derive their strength and firmness from the historical links that have always united the two countries, and their belief in the unity of purpose and destiny. In the same context, the Foreign Minister expressed Egypt’s appreciation of the efforts undertaken by Kuwait on the Arab stage and the important, positive role played by His Highness to reinforce the course of Arab unity and joint action, in a manner that would consolidate the pillars of regional and international peace and security.
The Official MFA Spokesperson added that FM Shoukry delivered to His Highness Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah his brother President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi’s invitation to visit his second home Egypt, in the framework of Egypt’s great interest in advancing consultation and coordination mechanisms with sister Kuwait; especially, in light of the important role Kuwait is undertaking in defending regional issues in the framework of its current Security Council membership.
Counselor Hafez, further, added that the meeting, also, broached overall regional issues and their developments. The importance of advancing frameworks of Arab unity and joint action in the face of various challenges was emphasized to maintain Arab national security. It was, also, emphasized that proposed solutions to regional crises should be formulated by the Arab themselves, and that Arab people determine their fates in a manner that meets their aspirations in a more peaceful and secured future.
For his part, Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah gave the Foreign Minister a message to His Highness’s brother President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi. The message included His Highness’s wishes for more prosperity and stability for Egypt’s people and government. His Highness, also, praised the special, brotherly relations that unite the two countries and emphasized the continued Kuwaiti unwavering position in support of brothers in Egypt.
