Minister of Environment Yasmine Fouad said Friday 14/12/2018 Egypt's co-chairmanship of a panel tasked with leading negotiations regarding the finance of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) will ensure a balanced agreement taking into account the rights of both the developing and developed countries.
Egypt and Germany led the negotiation meetings.
"Such a step is necessary for the climate change measures and mechanisms to be put into effect", said Fouad in a statement.
The rich countries have to fulfill their obligations under the Paris Agreement, she asserted.
