Largest cathedral in Mideast to be inaugurated on Sunday

The Cathedral of the Nativity of the Christ, the largest in the Middle East, is planned to be inaugurated on Sunday, spokesman for the Coptic Orthodox Church Polis Halim said in a statement on Thursday.
President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, Pope Tawadros II of Alexandria and Patriarch of St. Mark Diocese and members of the Holy Synod of the Coptic Orthodox Church will attend the inauguration ceremony, Halim added.
It is an invitation-only event, Halim said.
The Cathedral of the Nativity of the Christ in the New Administrative Capital is going to be the largest church in the Middle East, boasting an area which stands at 63,000 square meters and a design which enables it to accommodate 2,500 people on the ground floor and 7,500 on the top floor.
