Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli on Tuesday 5/2/2019 chaired a meeting of the committee in charge of the file of unsafe squatter areas and the development of Old Cairo.
The meeting which included Cairo Governor Khaled Abdel Aal, Deputy Housing Minister Essam el Gazar and Executive Director of the Fund for the Development of Slums Khaled Seddik, is following up upgrading slums nationwide for the safety of their residents.
Talks took up the return of residents to the already revamped areas and the premier said he contacted Minister of Social Solidarity Ghada Wali who asserted to him that new residential units in 'Rawdat El Sayeda' in Sayeda Zeinab district will be ready to receive their tenants shortly after being fully furnished.
The premier gave instructions to quicken the pace of work at other slum development projects including those of of 'El Mahrousa', 'El-Asmarat' and 'Ahalina'.
He reviewed at the meeting progress in plans to develop the Maspiro Triangle and moving leather tanneries in Sur Magra El Oyoun in the heart of Old Cairo to El Robeki Leather City.
