Mashat: Germany one of key tourist markets to Egypt

Minister of Tourism Rania el Mashat held a number of meetings on Thursday 07/03/2019 on the sidelines of ITB Berlin, the world's leading travel trade show.
The minister shed light on the positive improvement of German tourism coming into Egypt, saying Germany is one of the most important tourist markets to Egypt.
She praised efforts exerted by the government to attract tourism, including the establishment of Sphinx airport near tourist landmarks.
The minister met with president German Travel Association (DRV) Norbert Fiebig who said the German tourists are interested in visiting Egyptian tourist sites in the light of political and economic stability Egypt enjoys nowadays.
Mashat inaugurated Wednesday the Egyptian pavilion at ITB Berlin. Held on March 6-10, around 10,000 exhibitors worldwide are represented at the ITB Berlin travel trade show. The companies represented at the fair include hotels, tourist boards, tour operators, system providers, airlines and car rental companies.
Egypt takes part in ITB Berlin with a pavilion that stretched over an area of 1,178 square meters. As many as 100 exhibitors are taking part in the Egyptian pavilion this year, including 35 travel agencies, 59 hotels and others.
