The ministerial meeting of the Egyptian-Dutch Consultative Council on Water kicked off here on Wednesday 17/4/2019 under the chairmanship of Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation Mohamed Abdel Aati and Dutch Minister of Infrastructure and Water Management Cora van Nieuwenhuizen.

During the meeting, the two sides reviewed the activities of the council's previous meeting of May 2018 and the outcome of a study and tasks outlined by a group of Dutch water experts in Egypt.

The Dutch study included the protection and development of sanitary drainage network projects as well as the upgrade of coastal areas in cooperation with the Egyptian Authority for Management of Coastal Areas.

The meeting also probed the missions carried out by a working team from the Dutch government which convened in Cairo from April 2 till 11. The team's mission was to resume a development cooperation program between the two countries after it has been halted for six years.
