Defense Minister Mohamed Zaki said the Armed Forces shoulder the biggest responsibility for protecting national security in addition to proceeding with building the nation and realizing development.
He added that the Armed Forces proceed with developing capabilities and honing the fighting skills of servicemen to be able to protect and defend the homeland in a better and more efficient way.
Zaki made the remarks while having Iftar with a number of personnel of the third field army and counter-terrorism forces in the eastern Suez Canal.
This falls within the framework of the ministry's meetings with Armed Forces personnel to raise their morale and urge them to proceed with their mission of realizing security and stability.
At the beginning of the meeting, Zaki observed a minute of silence in remembrance of the martyrs who sacrificed their souls for their country.
Zaki conveyed President Abdel Fattah El Sisi's appreciation of the efforts and sacrifices offered by the Armed Forces to maintain national security and stability and uproot terrorism.
