CBE: Trade between Egypt, world countries up dlrs 47.7 billion in 1st half of FY 2018-2019

The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) said the volume of trade exchange between Egypt and world countries rose in the first half of FY 2018-2019 to dlrs 47.7 billion against dlrs 42.85 billion in the corresponding period in FY 2017-2018.
In a report, out on Thursday, the CBE said China topped the 14-strong list of Egypt's most important trade partners.
The volume of trade exchange between Egypt and China hit dlrs 8.4 billion in the first half of FY 2018-2019 against dlrs 7.5 billion in the same period in FY 2017-2018.
The US came in the second position with the volume of trade exchange estimated at dlrs 3 billion, the UAE in the third position at dlrs 2.79 billion, followed by Italy at dlrs 2.5 billion
Saudi Arabia occupied the fifth position with the volume of trade exchange standing at dlrs 2.5 billion, followed by Germany dlrs 2.1 billion, Britain dlrs 2.02 billion, Russia dlrs 1.86 billion, Switzerland dlrs 1.69 billion and Turkey dlrs 1.68 billion.
India ranked no 11 with the volume of trade exchange standing at dlrs 1.48 billion, followed by France dlrs 1.45 billion, Kuwait at dlrs 1.1 billion and Spain at dlrs 940.2 million.
