Sisi: Egypt looks forward to boosting coop. with Guinea-Bissau

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi on Monday 24/6/2019 said Egypt looks forward to boosting joint cooperation with Guinea-Bissau at all levels and increasing trade exchange between the two countries.

President Sisi made the remarks during a meeting with Guinea-Bissau presidential advisers Mamadou Sano and Herson Vaz, said Presidential Spokesman Bassam Radi.

Cairo is keen on the development of capacity-building and qualification of human cadres in Guinea-Bissau, which in turn could help the African country consolidate institutions' role and countering regional security challenges, notably the cross-border threats and terrorism, Sisi added.

During the meeting, the president asserted the importance of pushing forward efforts of joint African action, especially with regard to activating the free trade area, which is expected to contribute to meeting the African peoples' aspirations towards development and prosperity and enhancing the investment climate in Africa, the spokesman added.

For their part, the Guinea-Bissau presidential advisers expressed their country's appreciation to Egypt's great role in the African continent, in addition to Bissau's keenness to foster relations with Cairo in the different areas, the spokesman noted.

For his part, Mamadou Sano discussed with President Sisi the latest political developments in his country and the results of general elections that were held in March, as well as the appointment of new prime minister for the country, as part of efforts to form a consensus government supported by various political parties in Guinea-Bissau.
