Egypt applauds inking of Sudan's constitutional declaration

Saturday، 17 August 2019 - 04:48 PM

The inking of Sudan's constitutional declaration came after difficult negotiations, at the end of which the will of Sudanese people has prevailed, former Assistant Foreign Minister Mohamed Hegazy said Saturday 17/08/2019.

In statements to MENA, Hegazy applauded the signing of documents, under which power is to be handed over to a civilian government in Sudan.

"It is a matter that brings joy to Egypt, the entire region and whosoever wishes to bring peace, prosperity and stability to the Sudanese people," Hegazy noted.

The declaration took into account all the aspirations of the Sudanese parties, Hegazy said, calling upon all Arab and African states to work on boosting Sudan's economic, political, security and military capabilities during this critical stage.

Hegazy added that Egypt is looking forward to a similar deal in Libya.
