Honorable Audience ,
Allow me to thank you all, and in particular, His Excellency Japanese Prime Minister Mr. Shinzo Abe for hosting this Summit and the warm hospitality we have received. I would also like to express my appreciation to the organizing partners of TICAD for their great efforts to render this Summit and its preparatory meetings a success, and for the spirit of cooperation among the various participants, which contributed to combining the efforts of all parties to reach practical outcomes that reflect the priorities of our joint work to achieve sustainable development in the African continent according to the vision of the African Union Development Agenda 2063 and the Sustainable Development Goals 2030 .
Ladies and Gentlemen,
The TICAD Summit reflects the high level of the strategic partnership between the African Union countries and Japan, which is one of the unique partnerships in our modern world and contributes to realizing the mutual benefits of the parties of this partnership. The TICAD 7 Summit is considered a major achievement for all parties, as it has provided a platform for direct dialogue between the public and private sectors and has focused on a number of priority topics for the African Union, on top of which are the infrastructure sectors, industry, agriculture, health and applications of modern technology, as well as peace and security issues.
The African Union will continue to cooperate and coordinate with Japan and all the organizing partners of TICAD to ensure the implementation of the outcomes of the Summit in a way that fulfills the hopes and aspirations of the peoples of our African continent. Out of this context, it is our responsibility to build on the progress achieved in the strategic partnership between the African Union countries and Japan, and work together to strengthen that partnership to better reflect the needs of our African continent and its control over its development agenda, taking in consideration that our peoples, inside and outside the African continent, hope that much will be achieved through this summit and its results will bring a reality that will benefit from its positive results .
Ladies and Gentlemen ,
I would like to highlight the importance of continuing the course of TICAD in supporting the comprehensive and sustainable development of the African continent through its three pillars and the Plan of Implementation of the Yokohama Declaration, and the need for effective follow-up mechanisms to achieve the African development vision in accordance with the African Development Agenda 2063 and the Sustainable Development Goals 2030. In conclusion, I look forward to complete the march of the strategic partnership between the African Union countries and Japan at the TICAD 8th Summit in 2022, which will be held in Africa.
May Allah's Peace, Mercy and Blessings be Upon You.
