Shoukry asserts Egypt's full support to new Sudanese gov't - spokesman

Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry said Monday 9/9/2019 Egypt fully supports the new Sudanese government at this stage at the bilateral level and at the various regional and international forums.
This came during a meeting with Sudanese Prime Minister Dr Abdallah Hamdouk in Khartoum during which they discussed means of enhancing bilateral cooperation and supporting Sudan at the transitional phase, Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ahmed Hafez said.
Shoukry congratulated the new premier on his post and the announcement of the new Sudanese cabinet which reflects the country's success in overcoming such critical phase in its history and starting a new stage full of prosperity and growth that meets the aspirations of the Sudanese people, he said.
They reviewed the activities of the joint technical committees including the consular, Nile water, river transport, foodstuffs and others with the aim of boosting cooperation and coordination in facing common challenges, he added.
Shoukry said Egypt will send relief aid to the flood-stricken areas, he said, adding that the Sudanese official expressed appreciation of distinguished relations between the two countries.
He reviewed the priorities of the new government during the transitional phase and stressed the need to strengthen regional and international relations at this stage, particularly strategic ones with Egypt for the best interest of both peoples.
