Petroleum Minister Tarek el Molla said Egypt's participation in the World Energy Council conference comes as part of its efforts to enhance cooperation with different partners operating in the energy industry.
The minister made the remarks on the sidelines of his participation in the 24th session of the conference hosted by the UAE from September 9-12.
He said Egypt has now become a main partner in the natural gas industry.
More than 50 ministers representing different world countries and 200 senior energy officials are taking part in the event.
Molla said the conference, which is held once every three years, is an important platform that brings together all international companies operating in the energy market.
The conference is a chance to promote investments in the petroleum and natural gas fields, he said.
The participating ministers are to hold bilateral meetings on the sidelines of the conference.
