Sunday، 22 September 2019 - 01:00 PM

The State Information Service (SIS) said Sunday President Abdel Fattah El Sisi's visit to New York to attend the 74th UN General Assembly meetings is very important given the fact that the Egyptian leader represents not only Egypt but Africa as well in his capacity as Chairman of the African Union this year.

President Sisi's visit is important in terms of expounding Egypt's stance regarding Middle East issues, SIS said in a report.

The visit is the sixth in a row by President Sisi to the UNGA as he is keen on regular participation in the meetings which tackle international community and international peace and security issues, education, sustainable development and health as well as combating poverty, terrorism and extremism, the report pointed out.

This UNGA session deals with disarmament, gender equality and settling outstanding conflicts and crises; all of which are issues of concern to Egypt, the Arab world and Africa, it said.
