Egypt, Germany to cooperate on digitalizing industrial sector

Deputy Trade and Industry Minister Ahmed Taha reiterated cooperation with the German side in the digital transformation of Egypt's industrial sector.
The ministry signed an agreement with Siemens Company to start industrial digitalization and set a timetable for the application of this move.
He referred to efforts by the government to support local industrialization through setting up specialized industrial complexes and upgrading the infrastructure in a way that would allow Egyptian products to have more access into neighboring markets.
Taha's remarks came in a statement issued on Monday by the Trade and Industry Ministry on his participation in the eighth meeting of the 2019 global industry forum in Italy.
Some 1,500 representatives of the private and public sectors, and organizations concerned with industry and image result for digitilization attended the event.
On the sidelines of the forum, Taha held a series of meetings with senior officials, including the deputy chairman of the federation of Italian industries.
The two sides discussed ways of luring Italian investors to pump their money in Robeiki city, Sadat city for ready-to-wear clothes and Damietta city for furniture.
He also met with the chairman of the 2019 global industry.
