The joint Egyptian, Pakistani and Jordanian military exercise called Fajr Al Sharq 1 (“Dawn of the East 1”) kicked off in Pakistan on Friday 01/11/2019.
The eight-day drills see the participation of Egyptian, Pakistani, and Jordanian special forces, along with representatives of several other countries as observers.
At the start of the joint military training, Commander of Pakistani Special Forces Major General Mumtaz Hussain said the drills come in light of the three countries' keenness to promote military relations to the level of partnership.
He added that the exercise comes within the framework of the three states' concern for boosting military cooperation through the transfer and exchange of experiences in the fight against terrorism.
The military exercise is aimed at strengthening combat skills on how to conduct cordon and search operations, as well as on detecting and defusing explosives.
The training is part of a series of joint drills carried out by the Egyptian Armed Forces with many friendly countries to transfer and exchange experiences, and support security and stability efforts.
