Egypt, Gabon mull promotion of bilateral ties

Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli has discussed with his Gabonese counterpart Julien Nkoghe Bekale means to boost bilateral relations in different fields.

They met on Thursday on the sidelines of Aswan Forum for Sustainable Peace and Development in Africa, which kicked off a day earlier in the Upper Egyptian governorate of Aswan.

Madbouli stressed that Egypt is keen to cement ties with Gabon through making use of available opportunities of cooperation and Gabon’s potential of timber and increasing trade exchange.

He added that Egypt is eager to enhance cooperation in security fields to combat terrorism and extremist groups in Africa.

Bekale conveyed greetings of Gabonese President Ali Bongo Ondimba to Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, praising the successful organization of the forum.

The Gabonese premier affirmed that his country is eager to promote cooperation with Egypt in the coming period in all fields.
