Environment min. in Madrid highlights Egypt's progress in sustainable transportation

Environment Minister Yasmine Fouad said Thursday Egypt is achieving a leap in the fields of renewable energy and sustainable transportation, referring to the smart implementation of the New Administrative Capital which will be linked with a number of electric trains, topped by the monorail.
She attributed this achievement to the wise political leadership.
The minister made the remarks on the fringe of the 2019 United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP 25) in Madrid.
During a session on sustainable transportation, the minister delivered a speech highlighting the progress realized in Egypt in the sustainable transportation score.
She referred to laws banning licencing cars which over 20 years old, noting that the country is working in promoting the use of electric cars and compressed-air vehicles.
