Egypt takes part in AU technical committee meetings on education

Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research has participated in the meetings of the African Union (AU) 3rd Ordinary Session of the Specialized Technical Committee on Education, Science and Technology in Addis Ababa.
Deputy Minister of Higher Education for Scientific Research Yasser Refaat, Ministerial adviser for African Affairs Islam Abu al Magd and Ministerial Adviser for International Relations and Agreements Mohamed El Shenawy represented Egypt to the committee's meetings, the ministry said in a statement released on Thursday 12/12/2019.
During the meeting, Abu al Magd expounded Egypt's approaches and strategies on education, noting that Cairo pays great attention to technology and artificial intelligence.
Egypt looks forward to drawing up a continental strategy for artificial intelligence, in cooperation with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, the statement quoted the minister's adviser as saying.
He also posted the attendees on Egypt's experience with regard to accreditation and quality process in the higher education and scientific research, as well as the country's expertise in educational and research partnerships, the statement read.
Abu al Magd said the experts' final report will be presented to the ministerial meeting on Friday for approval before the final review at the African Union summit, chaired by Egypt in February 2020.
