Egypt's executive authority adopts a clear vision that reflects firm commitment to territorial integrity, Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry asserted on Wednesday 27/4/2016.
The government is also committed to safeguard the interests of the people, Shoukry added, addressing a meeting of political parties' youth secretaries.
In a comment on the deal made by Cairo and Riyadh to abandon control on two Red Sea islands to Saudi Arabia, the minister said the matter is expected to be decided by the House of Representatives soon.
The deal started in 1990 when Egypt and Saudi Arabia exchanged official communications on the uninhabited Red Sea islands of Tiran and Sanafir.
Under these letters, Cairo has officially acknowledged that the two islands are Saudi according to historic facts, the minister added.
Asked about the government's stance on the Ethiopia dam, the minister reaffirmed Cairo was fully committed to the tripartite deal signed by leaders of Egypt, Ethiopia and Sudan on the dam.
