FM meets New Zealand candidate for UN Chief

Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry met with New Zealand’s candidate for the United Nations top post, the UN Development Program chief Helen Clark on Sunday 22/5/2016.
During the meeting, Clark said she wants to get acquainted with Egypt’s expectations from the new secretary general of the UN, not just because of its membership at the UN Security Council but also for its regional and international standing, ministry spokesman Ahmed Abu Zeid said.
Shoukry said Egypt is attaching special importance to ensuring the independence of the UN top post.
