Sisi urges continued efforts in carrying out social housing projects

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi asserted the importance of continuing the establishment of social housing projects in order to eliminate slums and to provide appropriate housing for Egyptians.
This came during Sisi's meeting on Monday 13/6/2016 with Prime Minister Sherif Ismail and Housing Minister Mostafa Madbouly, Presidency Spokesman Alaa Youssef said.
During the meeting, the housing minister reviewed the latest developments concerning the second and third phase of a social housing project that was launched two months ago.
He added that the project is expected to end in June 2017 to build 550,000 housing units, adding that 190,000 units will be ready by June 30 this year.
Madbouly also reviewed efforts to accommodate residents of slums in the social housing project.
As many as 500 families were already housed in the new housing units, he said.
He pointed out that 40,000 housing units are being built in order to accommodate residents of slums in Cairo, adding that the project is expected to end within one year.
Madbouly also reviewed efforts to implement the services complex project in el Asmarat district as well as efforts to establish nine new cities.
Meanwhile, Sisi asserted the importance of continuing efforts to establish the new administrative capital and other new cities.
