President Sisi asserts Egypt's stance in support of unity, sovereignty of Iraq

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi conferred on Tuesday with Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al Abadi on the sidelines of meetings of the 71st session of the UN General Assembly in New York City.
Presidential Spokesman Alaa Youssef said Sisi congratulated Abadi on recent military achievements by Iraqi forces against Daesh.
Sisi voiced Egypt's full support for efforts exerted by Iraq in the fight against terrorism, added Youssef.
The Egyptian leader stressed - during the meeting - Egypt's stance which supports the unity and sovereignty of Iraq and its keenness on backing all efforts aimed at restoring security and stability to Iraq, according to the spokesman.
Abadi, on his part, underlined the depth of Egypt-Iraq relations and the importance of acting to develop different vistas of joint cooperation, said Youssef.
