Luxor hosts from October 30-November 1, 2016 the activities of 104 session of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) Executive Council.
This comes after the success of the Egyptian endeavors through cooperation between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Tourism to push forward Egypt's request to host the activities of 104th session of UNWTO Executive Council, and obtain letters of recommendations from about 11 countries, including Saudi Arabia, France, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Tunisia, Germany, Morocco, Bulgaria, Kenya, Seychelles, which exceed about 25% of the Member States of the Council for the adoption of its candidacy to host its activities in October and November, 2016, this comes simultaneously with Egypt's hosting of the 5th Global Summit on City Tourism.
The choice of Luxor to host this meeting is an attest by the UNWTO on Egypt's safety and security, and the ability of the Egyptian tourist destinations to receive one of the largest and most important tourism events in the world.
