Shoukry meets Algerian minister on bilateral relations, regional developments

Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry on Tuesday 7/3/2017 convened with Algerian Minister for Moroccan and African Affairs Abdel Qadir Mesahel on the sidelines of the Arab League Council meeting at the level of Foreign Ministers.


The meeting dealt with ways to promote bilateral relations to achieve the aspirations of the two brotherly peoples, spokesman for the Foreign Ministry Ahmed Abu Zeid said.

The meeting also tackled regional and international issues of common concern, particularly the crises in Libya, Syria and Yemen, in addition to the latest developments of the Palestinian cause, the spokesman added.

Shourky reviewed the outcome of his recent visit to Brussels, where he had a meeting with 28 foreign ministers of the EU member states, focusing on developments of the Libyan crisis.

He added that Egypt, Algeria and Tunisia play a vital role in efforts to settle the Libyan crisis.

The meeting also highlighted issues on the agenda of Arab Summit, slated for the end of March in Amman.
