Sisi: 200-mln-meter industrial zone set up in Ain Sokhna area

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi said on Wednesday 26/4/2017 that an industrial zone is being set up in Ain Sokhna area.

Sisi's remarks were made on the sidelines of a session, dubbed "prospects for sustainable development in transport, housing and Suez Canal axis", and held as part of the National Youth Conference currently held in Ismailia.

The industrial region will be established in an area of 200 million square meters, Sisi said, asserting the importance of exerting more efforts in a way that helps investors start their business as soon as possible.

Meanwhile, Sisi directed to expedite the ongoing preparations at al-Melez International Airport in North Sinai in order to enable it to accommodate up to 1.7 million passengers per year.

The president also underscored the importance of establishing a new city as an extension to Alexandria in an area of 40 million square meters.

As for residents of dangerous regions, Sisi affirmed the necessity of establishing 180,000 housing units for them by June 30, 2018.
