Int'l reports: Egypt ranks high as economic power in region - minister

Trade and Industry Minister Tarek Kabil stressed that the economic reform plan implemented by the government contributed to starting a new phase of positive growth for the Egyptian economy in various sectors and at all levels.
The international reports issued recently affirmed that the Egyptian economy achieved progress regarding the business atmosphere, he noted.
Kabil said that Egypt went up four ranks in the World Bank's Doing Businesses index for 2017, adding that the country restored its position as a strong economic power in the region according to the report of Moody's Ratings issued in January.
The remarks were made at a meeting held with a mission of the International Monetary Fund currently visiting Egypt.
The economic reform plan adopted by the Egyptian government now will lead to outlining a strategy for sustainable development, the minister reiterated. (MENA)
