Prime Minister Sherif Ismail on Tuesday 1/8/2017 urged Italian energy company Eni to increase investments in Egypt during the coming period.
During a meeting with Eni CEO Claudio Descalzi, Ismail expressed Egypt's keenness on boosting partnership with major international companies to support national projects in the country.
Descalzi posted the prime minister on the work progress in the Zohr gas field located in the Mediterranean Sea.
The natural gas field is expected to produce over 2700 million ft2 per day by the end of the project, Descalzi said, adding that Egypt is a key partner to his company.
Eni will pump half of its investments, estimated at 3.5 billion dollar, in Egypt during 2018, Descalzi added.
