Mahfouz Abdel Rahman was born on June, 11, 1941

Academic qualifications

He graduated from Cairo University in 1960 yet started writing even before .

Posts

After graduating, he worked at Dar Al Hilal and resigned in 1963.

He worked since 1963 at the Ministry of Culture, first in the Historical Documents Authority  and then as Editor-in-Chief in three magazines, Cinema Magazine, Theater and Cinema Magazine, and Arts Magazine.

He resigned in 1982 from the Ministry of Culture and focused on writing.

His writings

Short story, literary criticism and article in some magazines such as Arts - National Culture

His first novel series, The Search for the Unknown, 1967 and the second, Four Winters, 1984, and his first novel, "The Eighth Day," published in 1972 in Radio and Television Magazine.

He wrote several television series before working in 1974-1978 on Kuwait TV where he presented many valuable works.

He wrote more than twenty TV soap operas such as Om Kolthoum and Bawabet El Halawany

Cinema

He wrote movies such as Nasser 65, Haleem and some short and documentary films.

Plays

He wrote many plays such as: Maritime Sindbad (for children), Mice planet, the Trap, Beware and others

He breathed his last on August 19, 2017 at the age of 76
