Assistant Foreign Minister for Consular and Expatriate Affairs Khaled Rezq said on Saturday 04/11/2017 that the foreign ministry is closely following up investigation into the death of an Egyptian national in South Africa.
The Egyptian embassy there received a request from the man’s father seeking answers on disappearance of his son, Rezq said, adding that reports said the body of Egyptian national Mohamed Ahmed Nawar, who went missing on September 29, was found buried on Friday.
According to the reports, the South African police arrested a man driving Nawar’s car and confessed to killing Nawar and burying his body.
The embassy would help his family to take the necessary action for the funeral, the diplomat said.
Rezq urged Egyptians who are traveling to South Africa to exercise caution. He said their lives may be in danger if they moved in the African country with cash.
