Vietnamese President Tran Dai Quang arrived in Luxor International Airport to make tourist tour amid tight security measures. The one-day visit comes upon invitation by President Abdel Fattah El Sisi. Quang will pay a visit to temples and Pharaonic tombs in the East and West Banks besides attending one of the sound and light shows.
The Vietnamese president is scheduled to meet Luxor Governor Mohamed Badr and lawmakers in preparation for inking a tourist cooperation protocol between Vietnam and the Upper Egyptian governorate.

He awarded antiquities officials a portrait of Lotus, which is common in the Egyptian ancient civilization and Vietnam.
The Luxor trip is part of the Vietnamese leader's four-day visit to Egypt.
The Karnak Sound and Light Show highlights the dramatic history of ancient Thebes. The show narrates the achievements of some great Pharaohs, with poetic descriptions of the ancient treasures. As visitors walk through the complex of temples, pharaohs arise to tell the story of their interesting lives, as haunting music mysteriously flows through this ancient city.
President Abdel Fattah El Sisi received his visiting Vietnamese counterpart Trần Đại Quang at Ittihadiya Palace for talks on bilateral cooperation. The meeting focused on efforts to increase trade and investment exchange. The two leaders are also witnessed the inking of a number of memorandums of understanding between their countries in the fields of trade, industry and investment. Egypt and Vietnam are marking 55 years of diplomatic relations.
Egyptian-Vietnamese talks began at Ittihadiya Palace between President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and his Vietnamese counterpart Tran Dao Quang. The talks took up enhancing ties in the political, economic, scientific, technological, educational, defense and security fields.
Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli received Vietnamese President Tran Dai Quang. The premier affirmed Egypt's keenness on holding the sixth session of the joint ministerial committee in Cairo within 2019 with the aim of increasing the trade volume between the two countries and attracting more Vietnamese investments into the Egyptian market, especially in sectors where Vietnam has more experience, such as fish farming, shipbuilding and rice cultivation.
Vietnamese President Trần Đại Quang paid a visit to the pyramids archaeological area. The visiting president expressed admiration for the ancient Egyptian civilization noting that "whoever is capable of building a pyramid can accomplish any achievement".
