Oil min. confers with Moroccan counterpart on boosting cooperation in mining sector

Petroleum Minister Tareq el Mulla conferred with Moroccan Minister of Energy, Mines and Sustainable Development Aziz Rabbah on means of boosting cooperation and exchanging expertise in the field of mineral wealth.

They discussed the development witnessed in the mining sector in Morocco and Egypt's efforts to achieve a quantum leap in that area.

This came on the sidelines of the 11th Arab Energy Conference held currently in Marrakesh, according to a press statement released by the Petroleum and Mineral Resources Ministry on Wednesday3/10/2018.

Mulla said that the meeting with the Moroccan minister tackled projects implemented in both countries to develop their mineral resources.

The Ministry is working on implementing an ambitious project to hammer out a new strategy to promote and modernize the sector of mineral wealth and attract more investments into it, he said.

Mulla invited Rabbah to attend the 15th Arab Mining and Mineral Resources Conference due in Cairo in November.

For his part, Rabbah asserted the importance of boosting cooperation in the field of energy and mining resources, adding that his country is keen on exchanging expertise to maximize the benefits of its mineral wealth.
