Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli chaired a meeting on Friday 16/08/2019 that brought together Minister of Higher Education Khaled Abdel Ghaffar and Minister of Communications Amr Talaat to follow up the two ministries’ efforts in developing technological infrastructure and raising internet speed at Egypt’s public universities.
The meeting comes within the framework of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi’s directives on the application of automated tests for all university students in all specializations.
The higher education minister said the development process includes increasing internet speed at universities from 3 gigabytes/second to 15 gigabytes/second, linking all faculties of public universities together via fiber optics and developing data centers at the universities.
The plan also entails establishing 20 e-testing centers as a first stage at universities that contain medicine faculties, he added.
