PM arrives in Sudan to attend signing of landmark deal on transitional period

Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli arrived Saturday 17/08/2019 in Khartoum to participate on behalf of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, the current chairman of the African Union, in the inking ceremony of the constitutional document for a transitional period in the country.
Madbouli will convey greetings from President Sisi to the Sudanese side on the signing of the document.
He is also set to affirm Cairo’s support for the Sudanese people’s aspirations and for the country’s state institutions in their endeavors to achieve progress and prosperity for all people of Sudan as well as to put Khartoum on a new track that brings about stability, development and welfare.
Sudan is celebrating the signing of the landmark deal that has been reached between the Transitional Military Council and the Forces of Freedom and Change alliance to pave the way for civilian rule.
On Sunday, the new transitional civilian-majority ruling council is to be announced.
