Sisi meets in New York with Norwegian PM

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi met on Monday with Norwegian Prime Minister Erna Solberg.

The meeting was held on the sidelines of the 74th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.

President Sisi expressed Egypt's keenness on boosting relations with Norway in various fields, presidential spokesman Bassam Rady said.

The Norwegian premier lauded Egypt's pivotal role in maintaining stability in the Middle East region, expressing her country's desire to intensify and strengthen the framework of cooperation with Egypt.

The meeting tackled prospects of cooperation between the two countries in the fields of tourism, trade exchange, energy, fisheries, logistics and oil.

The two sides also discussed several issues of mutual concern at the regional level. (MENA)
