Prime Minister Moustafa Madobuli has stressed Egypt's condemnation of the Turkish incursion into northeastern Syria, warning against the serious consequences of this aggression on the region's stability.

During a meeting with two US lawmakers on Thursday, the premier urged the US administration to take action against Ankara to immediately stop its military offensive and withdraw its forces from Syria.

During the meeting, attended by Egyptian Ambassador in Washington Yasser Reda, Madbouli hailed the strong strategic relations binding between the two countries.

For his part, Republican Senator Jim Risch, chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee, said the US highly values the existing cooperation with Egypt, as part of the strategic partnership between the two states.

Also, the prime minister posted Republican Senator Jim Risch and Democratic Senator Robert Menendez on the latest developments in the GERD issue, noting that Egypt showed great flexibility throughout all stages of negotiations, for the sake of reaching common understandings that put into consideration the interests of all parties.

In this regard, Madbouli underlined that the Egyptian people will not accept that Egypt's rights to the Nile water are undermined.
