Sisi orders gov’t to rehabilitate cultural palaces nationwide

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi on Monday December 23, 2019 gave his directives to the government to rehabilitate cultural palaces nationwide to achieve the goals for which they were established.

During his meeting with Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli and Minister of Culture Enas Abdel Dayem, Sisi highlighted the role played by cultural palaces in educating young people, teaching them different arts and safeguarding them against extremist ideologies.

The meeting took up the ministry's overall strategy and future plans, Presidential Spokesperson  Bassam Rady said.

Sisi underlined the importance of the ministry's role in promoting arts and culture, reinforcing the Egyptian identity and delivering cultural messages to all the state villages, hamlets and in border areas, which would serve the state's comprehensive strategy to build the Egyptian personality both intellectually and culturally.

Meanwhile, Abdel Dayem briefed the president on her ministry's efforts for digitizing its services and restructuring the ministry's central apparatus and the Supreme Council of Culture.

She also gave an outline of the ministry's programs for improving cultural institutions nationwide, including cultural palaces, as well as the ministry's plans to make the best use of these entities through good resource management, Rady added.
