Sisi orders gov't to finalize GEM project on time

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi directed the government on Monday 30/12/2019 to abide by the deadlines set for the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM) project.

 

This came during a meeting with Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Khaled el Anani, Giza Governor Ahmed Rashed and Cairo Governor Khaled Abdel Aal.

 

The meeting took up the implementation of the GEM project, including the construction phase and preparations for receiving and displaying artifacts at the museum, Presidential Spokesperson Bassam Rady said.

 

Sisi stressed the importance of operating the museum in line with the latest international standards to add a real value to Egypt as well as the whole world.

 

For his part, Anani briefed the president on efforts exerted to finalize the construction of the museum on time in line with the latest international standards on that score.

 

He also spoke of traffic plans set to facilitate the entry of visitors to the museum in cooperation with different state bodies.
