Egypt, Congo sign MoUs in communication, industry fields

Assistant Foreign Minister for African Affairs Abu Bakr Hefni held a meeting with Congolese Ministers of Communication and Industry Augustin Kibassa Maliba and Julien Paluku Kahongya, respectively, in the presence of representatives of public and private sectors in Egypt and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
During the meeting, several memorandums of understanding were signed between the Egyptian and Congolese private sectors, said a statement by the Foreign Ministry.
The agreements were signed on establishing roads and developing ports and dams and setting up industrial projects in Congo's economic zone of Lubumbashi and North-Kivu province.
The deals also included establishing solar energy plants, power lines and sanitation projects.
These projects will be financed by joint Egyptian-Congolese funds.
Both sides also agreed on exchanging visits in the coming period to work to bring these deals to effect.
The meeting touched on the key role played by the Egyptian Agency of Partnership for Development in Congo in many fields including health care and medicines in provides to the African country.
